Carphone Warehouse O2 Contract Cancellation?

The 18 months is legally binding unfortunately so as far as I'm aware you can't end the contract before then. After that time they will just UME that you want to continue payments and I was told you have to write to them, giving 30 days notice, if you want to end your contract (after the initial agreed period).
