What does it take to get into Oberlin?

My niece is a junior in high school and her mom (my sister) was saying last night that they just don't know what it would take for her to get into Oberlin College, or a similar music college, they don't know because we are all in the wrong socio-economic cl. She says there are factors that the website wont explain, but that the right people already know. So, is anyone able to share the secrets? My niece is a musically talented, self motivated high achiever, good grades, has been taking the psat for fun since she was a kid.
