What is the difference between fog, mist, and haze?

I was a weather observer at one time and the terms such as mist and fog get used interchangibly but they are different. There is fog and ground fog and this is determined by depth. Mist on the otherhand can actually be from a dense fog situation, while haze is usually just a dry airm with a temperature inversion. With haze the air is stagnant. Dust particles remained suspended aloft and thus the haze that you experience. Sometimes haze can reduce visibility to less than 3 miles.
