The asteroid Apothos is due to hit us in 2036. Should we deflect it?

The Earth has been hit by numerous objects and also contributes to the 'well being' of earth. When a major object hits earth then the skies are darkned and the planet plunges into a minor, sometimes major, iceage. Now that we are concerned with global warming and this may be an answer; should we try to deflect it or just move the population out of the way? We do have about 29 years to move people!
